About:

I'm a nature photographer/filmmaker. I document a wide variety of our Earth's species. All of its life-forms compel me but one draws an unproportionate amount of my attention; Homo Sapiens. These hominids have been a subject of particular intrigue from an early age. Their ability to adapt, rationalize and flourish in even the most hostile environments has motivated my studies. For 20 years, I have tracked, documented and analyzed this young genus only to find more questions than answers. Patterns have emerged and to capture those observations, I've employed several mediums to help. Film, video, and digital photography have been my primary tools to capture these potential indicators before obscurity takes hold. This speed of which culture is created and destroyed, is sometimes imperceptible.

My studies have taken me around the world. Some environments have been vulnerable situations in order to learn about this mammal and uncover what motivates them to propagate its species. Is the forward momentum of culture a progression or a regression? Evolution or devolution? My body of work is the documentation and findings of my research. I invite the viewer to look for clues I've missed and share their findings to continue this ongoing research.

Photography achievements include publishings in books and magazine, press, winning various photo competitions,  showing work in galleries internationally and in 2017 being named "Top 12 Street Photographers In The World" by Huffington Post. He's shot assignments for The New York Times and A24.

Josh created Wrong Side Of The Lens; A documentary series about street photographers. It has over 19 episodes covering 18 photographers.

In 2016, Josh launched FACES, an ongoing documentary series about various people and places. There's 26 completed short films with always more on the way. Some of the installments have been featured in various film festivals and a feature documentary is under way. “A Day With Martha” won ‘Feature Documentary Runner-up’ at the 2018 Bushwick Film Fest.

Josh has worked with companies like VICE, A24, TIME Magazine, PBS, Sony and many more to help produce video, design, music, and original content.

Musically, Josh and friend Daniel Kramer created the electro group Estate in 2003. Since then, they’ve toured different parts of the country and world, made dozens of remixes and had their music remixed by their idols. If you listen closely, you can hear their music used in over 50+ prime time shows and feature movies including features on Silicon Valley, The Office, The New Girl, Gossip Girl, Ray Donavon, If I Stay, Community, and many more.
